American Flyers Spotlight: Featured Instructors November 2024

Jessica Nasief – CFI at Scottsdale, AZ (SDL)

My favorite part of training new pilots is witnessing that ‘lightbulb’ moment when a concept clicks. I love seeing their growth and watching them reap the rewards of their hard work. My goal in aviation is to travel far and wide; I love the freedom of being in the air and exploring new destinations. My next step is to earn my MEI certification and enhance my proficiency in various aircraft. The best part of working for American Flyers is my amazing team members.

Evan Fitzhenry – CFI at Morristown, NJ (MMU)

My favorite part of training new pilots is watching them progress from beginners to full-fledged aviators. There’s nothing quite like witnessing their growth during the training process. Being part of the American Flyers team is fantastic due to the friendly and supportive environment. Everyone is helpful, and the instructors are highly knowledgeable and easy to get along with. I also plan to earn my Multi-Engine rating soon, with the ultimate goal of becoming an airline captain.

Cody Carver – CFI at Addison, TX North (ADSN)

The best part of working for American Flyers is the instructors. They genuinely care about student development—not just as pilots but also in building confidence and knowledge. It’s rewarding to see my students succeed, especially when they grasp concepts and execute procedures independently. I’m pursuing my Airline Transport and Professional certificates, aiming to immerse myself in all aspects of aviation, from aerobatics to soaring, while earning various type ratings. The sky is the limit, and I won’t let anything hold me back.

Davis Kahler – CFI at Addison, TX South (ADSS)

I’m currently working on my ATP certification in hopes of becoming an airline pilot. The best part of training new pilots is witnessing their growth and development. It’s incredibly rewarding to see their confidence build as they master new skills and become comfortable in the cockpit. The excitement of witnessing that ‘aha’ moment when complex concepts finally click is unmatched. The greatest aspect of working for American Flyers is the sense of community among passionate aviators.

Edrick Steer – CFI at Houston, TX (CXO)

My ultimate goals in aviation are to ferry planes worldwide, explore remote locations, and meet diverse people. I want to keep my Flight Instructor certificate current so I can teach friends and family to fly. Next year, I plan to pursue my Multi-Engine certificate and later my Tailwheel and Seaplane endorsements. I love training new pilots, sharing my passion, and teaching subjects that once truly intrigued me. My coworkers at American Flyers make the experience enjoyable and inspire me to improve every day.

Kyle King – CFI at Pompano Beach, FL (PMP)

My ultimate goal in aviation is to start with charter flights and transition to the airlines. Having recently completed my MEI, I’m one step closer to achieving this. The most rewarding part of training new pilots is knowing I’m helping them fulfill their dreams. At American Flyers, I have a supportive team that guides students toward success. It truly feels like home—I always feel comfortable and have fun being part of such a fantastic environment.
