Flight Training Aircraft

Piper 100i Flight Training Aircraft

Piper 100i

The Piper Pilot 100i is the ideal addition to the training aircraft fleet American Flyers currently uses as they are suited more for training and less for personal aviation. It was added to our fleet due to the G3X avionics suite, which can be switched between glass and round dial presentation. The Piper Pilot 100i is the perfect mix of simplicity from the original Piper Archer aircraft, and upgraded avionics technology, working together to highlight the back to basics mentality that is the basis for all training programs taught at American Flyers.

Aircraft Avionics

Piper 100i Dash Garmin G3X

Garmin G3X

The Garmin G3X's ability to transform allows the pilot to display the flight instruments in either "glass" or "six-pack" layouts, which is invaluable for training and situational awareness. Its impressive technology allows the pilot to switch to synthetic mode, which provides a 3D visualization of the flight path using “Highway in the Sky” technology, surface features, and a synthetic overlay of the airport taxiways and runways.

Garmin G1000

The Garmin G1000 NXi software is the latest technology in integrated cockpit avionics. By incorporating the software into the Frasca RTD, users are able to learn correct procedures and habits as all menus and buttons represent the avionics that students will find in the aircraft. The revolutionary design of the Garmin G1000 NXi brings higher levels of situational awareness and safety to the cockpit.

Frasca RTD Simulators

Frasca RTD

The Frasca RTD (Reconfigurable Training Device) offers the most immersive flight training experience available. This flight simulator can be easily reconfigured to different aircraft configurations, and it’s durable design and easy maintenance make it an extremely reliable training tool. Using the G1000 NXi Software, the flight instructor is able to control the simulated environment (wind, temp, time of day), as well as cause simulated failures (engine, avionics, fuel) in real time.
