PATTI DECOTE HAS BEEN AN INVALUABLE MEMBER OF THE AMERICAN FLYERS TEAM for the past three years. Serving as the Student Services Coordinator at the Addison, Texas South location, Patti’s commitment to the success and well-being of students and fellow employees is truly commendable. After taking a year off to care for her parents, Patti rejoined the team in January 2024, bringing with her a wealth of experience and knowledge.
From her first day on the job, it was clear this position was made for Patti, or perhaps she was made for the position. Her genuine care for students and colleagues and her exceptional work ethic set her apart. Patti’s passion for supporting and guiding students on their journey toward becoming professional aviators is evident in her daily interactions and her positive impact on those around her.
When not at work, Patti finds joy in spending time with her Golden Retriever and Standard Poodle, two furry companions who provide her peace and companionship. She and her husband share a love for cinema, with a penchant for sci-fi, comedy, action, and a touch of drama. Their regular outings to the movie theater are a cherished pastime, allowing them to unwind and enjoy quality time together. Additionally, Patti indulges in the art of paper flower arrangements, using student sectional charts as her creative medium. Her passion for crafting and creating beauty extends beyond the workplace, showcasing her artistic flair and attention to detail.
One of Patti’s recent adventures took her to Portugal, a memorable trip that fulfilled her mother-in-law’s lifelong dream of exploring her ancestral roots. Accompanied by her husband and his mother, Patti experienced Portugal’s rich culture and history and created cherished memories that will last a lifetime. This trip offered relaxation and exploration and strengthened the bonds of family and cultural heritage.
Amidst the hustle and bustle of daily responsibilities, Patti maintains a positive outlook and a sense of humor, joking with colleagues that every day feels like Monday. Despite the demanding nature of her role, Patti’s best days are marked by meaningful conversations with students and the fulfillment she gains from supporting their growth and development.
