American Flyers Spotlight: Featured Instructors January 2024

Name: Jayden Lee

CFI Location: Morristown NJ

I love the environment that American Flyers fosters. Everyone I work with is friendly and helpful, and I genuinely look forward to coming to work. My favorite part of training new pilots is seeing them soak in all of the information they have learned and apply it to successfully flying an ILS. I recently finished my multi-engine rating.

Name: Connor Sanders

CFI Location: Pompano Beach

My favorite part of working for American Flyers is having the opportunity to teach people how to fly. Nothing compares to the look on a student’s face when they’ve finally understood a flight concept—their excitement of learning how to fly is contagious. I am working on my seaplane rating soon, and hope to one day to work for the airlines.

Name: Colin Whelan

CFI Location: Addison South

The sense of camaraderie amongst the CFIs has to be one of my favorite parts of working at American Flyers. I learn from my team members and other instructors every single day. I also love working here because it’s amazing to be able to watch my students get comfortable and confident in the air. I am working on completing my multi-engine rating very soon. My ultimate goal in aviation is to travel the world to see as much as I can, while also visiting the people I love.

Name: Nash Fox

CFI Location: Scottsdale

My favorite part of training new pilots is watching their confidence grow, and seeing them command a plane without looking to me for guidance. The best part of American Flyers is working in a fun environment that encourages collaboration and teamwork. My goal one day is to be a pilot with the airlines.

Name: Tyler Sheets

CFI Location:  American Flyers Addison North

I am currently working toward my ATP certification and my ultimate goal in aviation is to fly 747s internationally. My favorite part of training new pilots is being able to see them achieve their goals. There’s no feeling that quite compares to that “Aha!” moment a student experiences once a concept clicks. The best part of American Flyers has to be the people that make up the team. I’ve had the pleasure of meeting great people and making friends thanks to American Flyers.

Name: Kirt McDaniel

CFI Location: Conroe, Texas

At American Flyers, the entire staff works together to help students reach their goals and this sense of support is so unique compared to other flight schools. The instructors, chiefs, managers, and ops team all know the students and do their best to meet each student’s needs. I love being able to help students go from zero flight experience to becoming great pilots. Watching new pilots get excited when they master something difficult, like landing, is priceless. I am currently working toward my ATP Certification and hope to be able to teach my dad how to fly one day.
