Ray Garcia is a smiling face that everyone wants to be around. Ray is a mechanic based out of our Addison, Texas location who partners with our managers to oversee maintenance at both our North and South locations. He is a well of knowledge, a voice of encouragement, and an incredible employee.
Before coming to American Flyers, Ray joined the Air Force at 20 years old and worked on B-52s and F-16s. After serving his country, Ray began working for a Citation service center, maintaining business jets, specifically the Citation X and Citation 650s and 625s. He also has experience working on the Challenger 601, 604, and 300 models.
Ray is also a teacher. He taught at Redstone College for 5 years, earning the top instructor award 15 times! While at Redstone, Ray also served as the program director. We were lucky enough to lure him away from Redstone because, as he says, “I knew about American Flyers when I was teaching, and I would recommend the internship to aspiring pilots who worked hard academically. American Flyers has a wonderful reputation, so when I heard there was an opportunity to become a part of the team, I jumped on it!”.
We’re happy he joined the team. Since coming to American Flyers, Ray has performed most of our ADS-B conversions, completes 1/3 of our annual inspections, trains our new mechanics, and does recurrent training with our current team members. Ray does a wonderful job managing what I would consider to be the best maintained airplanes in the industry. He is a hard worker, dedicated to his team, and above all else, he is appreciated by his brothers and sisters at American Flyers. Ray, thank you for all that you do and for being a part of American Flyers.
