American Flyers Spotlight: Featured Instructors July 2024

Thomas Richards – CFI at Scottsdale, AZ (SDL)

My favorite part of working for American Flyers is the staff because everyone is so supportive and friendly. I love training new pilots and being a part of their journey to achieving their goals. Seeing their satisfaction once they’ve accomplished a goal is my favorite part of being an instructor. I hope to one day fly internationally, specifically to my hometown of Paris, France.

Giulianna Giordano – CFI at Morristown, NJ (MMU)

My favorite part of training new pilots is watching them progress and being there to celebrate their milestones with them. I plan on achieving my Multi-Engine Rating in September and hope to one day work for an airline. The environment at American Flyers, along with the team, makes every day here enjoyable and motivates me to want to keep learning and be a helpful CFI.

William Rott – CFI at Addison, TX North (ADSN)

My goal in aviation is to travel the world and see new places while flying a wide-body plane for a major airline. I am currently working toward my ATP to get closer to achieving this goal. The best part of working for American Flyers is collaborating with chiefs and other instructors to help our students succeed. I love training new pilots and watching their confidence grow as they pass their checkrides and eventually learn to feel comfortable flying out of a busy airport.

Victoria Scholl – CFI at Addison, TX South (ADSS)

I am currently working toward my Commercial Multi-Engine Certification with the ultimate goal of one day working for the airlines and flying with my father, a captain for Southwest Airlines. My favorite part of working for American Flyers is the close bond I have with my team. The people I work with feel more like family than coworkers. Watching my students’ faces light up when a piece of information clicks for them is the best part of training new pilots.

Collin Jacks – CFI at Houston, TX (CXO)

The best part of training new pilots is seeing when a topic or concept finally clicks for a student. It is so satisfying to watch them master something they had originally struggled with. My goal in aviation is to get paid to fly big jets across the ocean and eventually sit down, reflect, and enjoy a layover as a successful pilot. The structure of the programs at American Flyers, in addition to the great people I work with, are my favorite parts of working here. I always go into a lesson knowing what to teach, which makes my job easier and more enjoyable.

Megan Griffin – CFI at Pompano Beach, FL (PMP)

I plan to get my MEI in the future, and my ultimate goal in aviation is to acquire enough hours and experience to fly with my father at Amerijet. My favorite part of training new pilots is watching their progression throughout their training. Being there from the beginning of training to the end through checkrides and witnessing the “a-ha” moments along the journey is a great feeling. Working for American Flyers is amazing because of the atmosphere and camaraderie amongst the team—everyone is committed to doing their best to help each other succeed.
