Colin Gonzalez started with American Flyers 23 years ago at KSMO airport in California. He found himself working weekends as he paid for his training to earn his private pilot certificate. His hard work and attention to detail made him the perfect choice for the Administrative Co-op program. In the program, Colin was able to earn his instrument rating, commercial certificate, and certificated flight instructor certificates.

After completing the program, Colin instructed for a short time before deciding to return to an operations role. He began as our FBO manager at SMO and continued to take care of our students day in and day out. He did all this while earning his college degree and trying his hand at helicopters.

In 2016, Colin made the move down to sunny South Florida. Colin is known for his attention to detail. That’s why he is responsible for our veteran and international training. Our veterans deserve our best and Colin is there to ensure all paperwork is submitted on time and without error. Our international students look to Colin for help with their visa and TSA paperwork. Colin works tirelessly to ensure our international students have what they need to complete their training within government compliance.

Colin is also willing to help whenever and wherever needed. When one of our managers was out on maternity leave, Colin stepped in to help in her absence. His knowledge, years of experience, and caring attitude have always been a winning formula. Colin, thank you for always being there when we and our students need you!
